For validation, four tenant VMs are deployed to different VxRail hosts. In this example, the VMs are configured as shown in the following table.
Host | VM name | Segment | IP address | Gateway | DNS server |
c1-vxrail-01.dell.lab | app-vm-01 | app-segment | 10.10.10.1/24 | 10.10.10.254 | 172.19.11.50 |
c1-vxrail-02.dell.lab | app-vm-02 | app-segment | 10.10.10.2/24 | 10.10.10.254 | 172.19.11.50 |
c1-vxrail-03.dell.lab | web-vm-01 | web-segment | 10.10.20.1/24 | 10.10.20.254 | 172.19.11.50 |
c1-vxrail-04.dell.lab | web-vm-02 | web-segment | 10.10.20.2/24 | 10.10.20.254 | 172.19.11.50 |
In the vSphere Client, the VM network adapter on each of the tenant VMs is assigned to the applicable NSX-T segment per the previous table, as shown.
IP address, gateway, and DNS server settings are configured in the operating system of each VM per the previous table.
