Validation between VM on R730xd Rack server and VM on MX740c compute sled
In this scenario, the vCenter is deployed on the R730xd system. VMs are deployed on the MX compute sleds and R730xd server. The network is established on tagged VLANs 1611 through 1616 which are used for ESXi management, vMotion, vSAN, and VM networks.
After the successful installation of the guest operating system on the VM, assign the IP from the private IP network to each host VM in the corresponding subnet. The topology can be validated end-to-end by pinging from one VM on the MX740c to one VM on the R730xd server.
The following figure shows the VM on R730xd server with an assigned IP of 10.10.10.13, and that the VM on the MX740c with an assigned IP of 10.10.10.11.
Validation between VMs on two MX740c compute sleds
This scenario pings one VM on the MX740c to another VM on the MX740c to validate the internal MX chassis scenario. The chassis are in the MCM group. The assigned IPs on the VMs that are deployed on the MX740c compute sleds are 10.10.10.11, and 10.10.10.12.
The ping is shown below.
