- Open Horizon 8 View Administrator.
- Log in as an administrator.
- Select Settings > Domains.
- Under Instant Clone Engine Domain Accounts, click Add.
- Enter the Domain Name, Username, and Password for the domain administrator.
- Click OK.
- Under Inventory, click Desktops, and click Add.
- If a More Information message pops up, click Ignore.
- Select Automated Desktop Pool, and click Next.
- Select Instant Clone, and click Next.
- Select Dedicated, and leave Enable Automatic Assignment checked.
- On the Storage Policy Management page, select Use VMware Virtual SAN, and click Next.
- For the pool ID and display name, type pool, and click Next.
- Under Naming Pattern, enter an appropriate name pattern for the pool with a variable name defined, such as vditest-{n:fixed=3}
- Note this for the View Planner testing settings in the next section.
- Select All Machines Up-Front.
- Under Pool Sizing, type the max number of desktops, the number of spare (power on) desktops, and click Next.
- Under vCenter Settings, select the following depending on where you are deploying virtual machines:
- Golden Image in vCenter
- Snapshot
- VM folder location
- Cluster
- Resource pool
- DataStore
- Click Next.
- On the Desktop Pool Settings page, leave defaults, and click Next.
- On the Remote Display Protocol page, leave defaults, and click Next.
- On the Advanced Storage Options page, left defaults, and click Next.
- Under Guest customization, select the following:
- Domain: test.local (Administrator)
- AD container: CN=Computers
- Use Clone Prep
- Click Next.
- Click Submit.
- Note: Because this testing is local, you do not need to specify any entitlements.
