The Grid Dynamics team used Dell EMC PowerEdge T350 and Dell EMC PowerEdge T340 servers as platforms to get data from the in-store channels. We used a publicly available looped video from a CCTV camera that shows real people walking in the mall to:
Compare the server capabilities and speed of data processing in the e-сommerce-style analytics for Brick & Mortar stores use case:
In this use case, we processed the video, stored the data into a database, and showed typical analytical insights on a dashboard (see Figure 2).
Check performance in handling significant workloads in the advanced in-store behavior analytics use case:
For this, we transformed and used data, gathered from CCTV cameras, to determine and plot regions of high interest on a heatmap (see Figure 3).The use cases represent the typical areas, in which AI optimizes the retail operations:
- Counting and segmenting visitors from real-time video streaming.
- Analyzing the sales and traffic trends to enable data-driven business decision-making (see Figure 2).
- Processing and visualizing in-store behavior of customers to optimize the store interior design (see Figure 3).
