This PowerEdge R660 configuration uses all 14 storage slots for E3.S NVMe drives. The eight E3.S NVMe drives on the left side connect directly to CPU2. The six E3.S NVMe drives on the right connect directly to CPU1. This configuration supports a large amount of E3.S NVMe capacity in 1U. This configuration supports E3.S and PCIe Gen5, which enables the highest NVMe performance available.
