This PowerEdge R660 configuration uses all 14 storage slots for E3.S NVMe drives and two E3.S NVMe drives from the rear. The left eight E3.S drives connect directly to CPU2. The right six E3.S drives plus the two E3.S NVMe rear drives connect directly to CPU1. This configuration supports E3.S and PCIe Gen5, which enables the highest NVMe performance available.
