While the SRDF SRA and Solutions Enabler files are readily available on a Window SRM implementation, editing them on the SRM Appliance is a bit more challenging. All the editable files on the SRM Appliance first need to be downloaded through the SRM Appliance Management interface as a configuration archive (compressed tar file). An example of this is shown in Figure 23.
Once the tar file is uncompressed, the contents of the archive are shown in Figure 24.
The archive contains both the XML configuration files as well as the Solutions Enabler files as previously discussed. As these files are from a Linux OS, it is safest to edit them on a Linux system using vi or another editing tool. If the files are downloaded, uncompressed, extracted, and edited on Windows, be sure to use an editor that is not going to alter the formatting of the files or add extra characters which will render the files invalid. The files should always be extracted with the directory structure and after modifying the files, be sure to tar and compress them with the same structure. Any changes to the structure might result in the errors in Figure 25 when uploading the tar file in SRM.

An example of a correctly uncompressed/tar/compressed operation is shown in Figure 26. If using a method that does not seem to result in properly formatted files, consider following the steps below as they use readily available and generic utilities on the OS which are likely supported by the company.
Note: Although it is possible to edit the SRA configuration files from within the Docker container on the appliance, it is strongly discouraged and is not a supported methodology. Loss of changes is likely during the next reboot. The configuration archive process as outlined above should be used.
