This white paper considers having a physical switch where the management traffic and workload traffic are separated using VLANs. The network environment can vary for different customer environments.
An example network configuration that is considered for this white paper is the following.

This document uses specific VLANs for Management and vSAN traffic. The management VLAN is set to "native" on the switch so that untagged traffic will be assigned to VLAN 29. This is helpful because you do not need to login to the witness sled to tag management traffic explicitly. Alternately, you could use the native VLAN 1 or any VLAN you choose for management.
The following physical switch configuration is based on the VLANs noted above.
