To achieve the maximum scalability in terms of SAP HANA nodes, as described in Table 2, configure all Unity XT arrays with two 4-port FE I/O modules per storage processor (16 FE parallel ports per array). Further, ensure that the SAP HANA host connections are evenly distributed across all available FE ports and storage processors.
Depending on the Unity XT model, the rear view of the disk processing enclosure (DPE) is slightly different. However, all models have two I/O slots per storage processor. You can configure the slots with either 4-port 16 Gb/s FC I/O modules or with 4-port 10/25 Gb/s IP I/O modules. These I/O modules and ports must be dedicated to SAP HANA. The following figures show these I/O slots with a white square.
In addition, the Unity XT 380F model has two integrated parallel ports per storage processor, which can either be 16 Gb/s FC or 10 Gb/s IP ports. The red squares in the following figure indicate the integrated parallel ports. The Unity XT 380F model has two integrated 10 Gb/s parallel ports, as indicated by the green squares.

The Unity XT 480F, 680F and 880F models also have two integrated 4-port port I/O modules, as shown in the green square in the following figure, to support either 10 Gb/s or 25 Gb/s IP I/O modules. You can also use these ports for SAP HANA, but they do not increase overall scalability, as defined in Table 2.
