VxRail is delivered ready to deploy and attach to any 10 GbE or 25 GbE network infrastructure using IPv4 and IPv6. As a best practice, we recommend using dual switches to eliminate the network as a single point of failure. In this solution, we designed the VxRail clusters network as follows:
- Configured two top-of-rack switches to provide 10 Gb or 25 Gb Ethernet connectivity to VxRail
- Used VLANs to logically group devices on different network segments or subnetworks
- Used separate vSphere virtual distributed port groups to isolate the network communication for each network:
- vSphere management network
- vSphere vMotion network
- vCenter network
- vSAN management network
- Splunk Enterprise network
