PowerScale OneFS release 9.2.0.0 introduces support for IPv6 Router Advertisements (RAs). OneFS uses the RAs to update IPv6 routes. Although RAs might provide information about how to configure an IPv6 IP address using SLAAC or DHCPv6, OneFS does not use this functionality.
Note: OneFS only updates IPv6 routes if RAs are available on the front-end external network.
Greenfield OneFS release 9.2.0.0 clusters have the RAs feature enabled by default. For brownfield OneFS release 9.2.0.0 clusters, the RAs feature is disabled by default, preventing any existing configuration impacts. To enable the RAs feature on a brownfield OneFS release 9.2 cluster, run the following command:
isi network external modify --ipv6-auto-config-enabled=true
To confirm if the RAs feature is enabled, check for the ACCEPT_ROUTER_ADVERT NIC flag on the isi network interfaces list –-v command, as shown here:
