A VMware vSAN 2-node cluster is a minimal configuration consisting of two vSAN data nodes and a witness virtual appliance. VxRail 4.7.100 and later versions support VMware vSAN 2-node cluster direct-connect configurations using VxRail E Series platforms. VxRail 4.7.410 and later support switch configuration.
A vSAN 2-node cluster can easily be deployed anywhere. A single vCenter instance can manage many vSAN 2-node clusters. The vSAN 2-node cluster continues to provide the same functional benefits of vSphere and vSAN. It enables efficient centralized management with reduced hardware and software costs, while meeting the needs of environments that have space, budget, and IT personnel constraints.
