  • The settings put into VxRail Manager are used to configure the VxRail managed vCenter Server on the cluster during the VxRail initial deployment process.

    Deployment requirements

    The VxRail managed vCenter Server deployment option requires:

    • A reserved vCenter Server hostname
    • A reserved IP address for the vCenter Server on VxRail
    • A reserved PSC hostname
    • A reserved IP address for the new PSC
    • Correctly configured forward and reverse DNS records if you are using an external domain name server
    • VMware-compliant passwords for the administration accounts
    • If you plan to connect to another VxRail managed vCenter Server instance using ELM:
    • Remote VxRail managed vCenter Server hostname
    • Remote VxRail managed vCenter Server HTTPS port
    • Remote VxRail managed vCenter Server administrator credentials

    Note: PSC hostname and IP address are not needed if you are using VxRail 7.x with vCenter Server 7.x.
