A dynamic cluster is a cluster with two or more nodes in the same location that use storage other than local vSAN as its primary storage. One option, VMware vSAN hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) Mesh, enables a VxRail cluster to share its spare vSAN storage resources with one or more VxRail clusters without local vSAN storage.

In a vSAN HCI Mesh configuration, all the clusters participating in vSAN storage resource sharing must reside in the same vCenter instance and be placed under the same data center instance inside the vCenter.
