Select the external management network subnet

  • There is one overall management network for Cloud Foundation on VxRail. The management components for VxRail, Cloud Foundation and NSX-T all share this same subnet.

    The following components will all require an IP address on this management network:

    • CloudBuilder will require a temporary IP address to build the management domain
    • SDDC Manager
    • The VxRail Manager instance for the cluster supporting the management domain
    • The VxRail (ESXi) nodes supporting the management domain
    • Every vCenter instance deployed to support a workload domain
    • The management components for every unique NSX-T instance (three NSX-T Manager nodes and a single virtual IP address)

    Ensure that the subnet range selected is of sufficient size for all of the expected components.
