In limited use cases, there may be a requirement for VLAN to be configured to enable routing services with the upstream network. In this event, the same rules apply for preparing for Layer 3 integration using either static routing or BGP, but the exception is that a VLAN is assigned for the transport between the two network layers.

To prepare for Layer 3 integration using a VLAN, perform the following tasks:
The ‘VLAN – Layer 3 Settings’ table in Appendix A: VxRail with SmartFabric network configuration tables can be used to capture the setting to enable routing services with the upstream network using a VLAN.
