Prior to VxRail version 7.0.010, only the Ethernet ports on the Network Daughter Card (NDC) could be used to support the VxRail cluster. Starting with version 7.0.010, the Ethernet ports on the optional PCIe adapter cards can also support VxRail network traffic. This node connectivity option protects the NDC from being a potential single point of failure.

Note: The option to enable redundancy at the NIC level is supported during VxRail initial build if the cluster is deployed against a customer-supplied virtual distributed switch. If the virtual distributed switch is created during the VxRail initial build operation, enabling NIC-level redundancy is a Day 2 operation.
