The VxFlex integrated rack (formerly VxRack FLEX) is a rack-scale engineered system, with integrated networking that provides linear scalability and enterprise-grade availability. The VxFlex integrated rack is engineered, manufactured, managed, supported, and sustained as one system for single end-to-end life cycle support.
The VxFlex integrated rack comes preinstalled with integrated top-of-rack (ToR), aggregation, and out of band (OOB) management switches to provide optimal network traffic flow. VxFlex is designed using Cisco Nexus aggregation switches that provide 10/40 GbE IP uplink connectivity to the external network for superior performance. Often, network bottlenecks can limit the scale of an HCI system. The 10/25 GbE ToR switches in the VxFlex system eliminate these restrictions and provide a path for future growth.
The Dell EMC VxFlex family of products enable organizations to consume VxFlex as an integrated system, an appliance [CP1] and as a Ready Node[CP2] . Each of these include the storage layer software, known as VxFlex OS, which is a scale-out block storage service that enables customers to create a scale-out Server SAN or hyper-converged infrastructure on x86 server hardware.
