Oracle Big Data SQL can connect to a broad range of source systems including the Oracle Database system, Hadoop, and several NoSQL Database options. In this solution, we configure data sources for Hadoop and ONDB as part of the Big Data SQL architecture. Many enterprises that use Oracle also need Microsoft SQL Server. This solution included an independent installation of Microsoft SQL Server to demonstrate how Oracle Big Data SQL can connect to systems outside the Hadoop and NoSQL project scope. When the infrastructure and these three applications were deployed, we tested the capability of Oracle Big Data SQL to query non-relational and relational data. This solution provides a complete description of how enterprises can deploy Oracle Big Data SQL to unify access to distributed data sources, achieving the goal of accelerating data analysis.
