Azure Arc-enabled servers allow Windows and Linux physical servers and VMs that are hosted outside Azure to connect to Azure and manage like native Azure VMs with configuration management and monitoring capabilities. The consistent management experience on hybrid machines is achieved by installing an Azure Connected Machine agent on each of the servers or VMs. The agent sends the regular heartbeat messages to Azure service in every five minutes to review the status of the hybrid machines.
Note: There are multiple supported cloud operations, regions, and environments for Azure Arc-enabled servers. For more information, see Azure Arc-enabled severs.
