A number of load balancing options are supported by the Anthos clusters on VMware (GKE on-premises). For more information, see Load balancer overview.
The MetalLB and Seesaw load balancers are bundled with Anthos clusters on VMware. The MetalLB is easy to configure, and its components run on your cluster nodes, so you do not have to create separate VMs for your load balancer. While the Seesaw load balancer requires additional manual configuration. It runs on VMs that are separate from your cluster nodes. Anthos requires a Layer 4 network load balancer. You can also choose to enable manual load balancing and use your own L4 load balancer.
