The following figure shows the recommended physical and logical zoning of the two-node Oracle RAC database nodes to the PowerStore T appliance. The following best practices are applied in the SAN design and implementation:
- Use two separate fabrics or FC switches for high availability and load balance.
- Use a single initiator zoning scheme—one database server initiator is zoned with one storage target.
- Each database server or ESXi host has four paths per storage volume.
- Four HBA ports in each database server or ESXi host are zoned with two storage ports per storage node for maximum high availability and load balance.
