You can deploy Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, which are based on the second generation of Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Platinum and Gold grades), with a combination of DRAM and Intel Optane PMem modules. With PowerEdge servers, PMem modules are offered in three capacities: 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. PMem modules are populated in the memory slots of the server and are compatible with RDIMMs and LRDIMMs. You can purchase a PowerEdge server with the PMem modules in place, or you can install them yourself, as explained in PMem population best practices.
A maximum of six PMem modules are supported within each CPU socket. The total supported memory size per CPU socket (including DRAM and PMem capacities) depends on the type of CPU used, as shown in the following table.
