The high-level design principle of the SGs and volumes for the small configuration call for:
Table 41 shows the SG and volume design for one database set in the small configuration. Replicate the design for the subsequent sets in the small configuration, as shown in Table 42 and Table 43. As shown in the tables, create dedicated OS, OCR, GIMR, DATA, REDO, FRA (OLTP production and test/dev), and TEMP (OLAP production) CSGs for each database.
Note: Because the three OLTP test/dev databases (D2, D3, and D4 in this example) belong to the same database cluster, create OS, OCR, and GIMR SGs only once to be used cluster-wide.

As shown in Table 44, each ESXi host sees 960 SCSI devices or paths in the small configuration. This number is well below the ESXi 6.5 limit of 2,048, leaving sufficient capacity for additional volumes, if needed.
