Configuring northbound customer switches

  • The MX7000 chassis connects to the northbound network using the MX9116n FSE modules. Before configuring the MX7000 chassis and modules, configure the northbound switches with the appropriate Virtual Port Channels. 

    The following table provides standard configuration examples of the Cisco Nexus 9332 switches:

    Sets basic configuration parameters, including:

    • Hostname
    • IP address (default is VLAN 101)
    • NTP
    • DNS
    • Domain names

    Spanning tree

    By default, Dell OS10 uses RPVST+.

    When connecting to a customer’s environment, ensure that the same type of Spanning Tree RPVST+ is running on the upstream switches.

    Note: If this setting is incorrect, it may impact network stability

    Port channel

    Example of a port channel configuration:
