PowerFlex best practices

  • The following best practices are recommended for the PowerFlex system:

    • Configure the high-performance profile for MDM, SDS, and SDC.
    • Disable the Read Flash Cache and Read RAM cache for all flash clusters. 
    • Sometimes, increasing the device queue depth value to 256 can improve I/O concurrency.
    • Create thick provisioned volumes.

    Note: The parameters can be set from the PowerFlex CLI.

    •  Run the following command to increase the SDS threads to twelve.

    scli --set_performance_parameters --all_sds --tech --sds_number_os_threads 12
