  • The following figure shows the network architecture of a two-layer PowerFlex system.

    All nodes are connected to two Dell PowerSwitch S-5248F switches which are configured with VLT to enable interconnectivity and fault tolerance. All nodes are outfitted with 2 dual-port Mellanox 25GbE NICs which provide 4 25Gb ports on each server. One port from each NIC is connected to one switch and the other port is connected to the second switch. Moreover, ports are NIC teamed to provide high availability.

    As per standard practices outlined for PowerFlex deployment, dedicated VLANs are used for vMotion, managing the hypervisor, customer network, managing PowerFlex, etc. For more information about  VLANs and their purpose, consult PowerFlex documentation.
