The Restartable backup feature in PowerScale enables OneFS to take checkpoints throughout the backup process and restart a failed backup job from the last checkpoint automatically. This feature eliminates the time required to back up data that was previously successful up to the last checkpoint. It focuses resources on the failed portion of the backup, minimizing the time required to successfully finish a failed backup.
The Restartable feature is supported with the Multi-Stream feature with Commvault 11 SP25+ and OneFS 9.2.1.0+.
Commvault has integrated with this feature, and it is also enabled by default on NDMP backups of an PowerScale cluster.
