PowerFlex network configuration

  • The following section provides an overview of the network design for the PowerFlex R650 servers.

    Each of the PowerFlex compute and storage nodes contain the following components:

    • 2 x Mellanox ConnectX-5 EN 25 GbE Dual-port SFP28 Adapter cards. Each card has 2 x 25 GB port connections.
    • Out of a total of 4 x 25 GB ports, 2 x 25 GB connections are used for PowerFlex data traffic and 2 x 25 GB connections are used for other networks such as hypervisor management, vMotion, Oracle RAC public and private network.
    • 1 x 1 Gbps port for management traffic.
    • To achieve maximum availability and performance, two of the interfaces from each NIC card are bonded together to form a network bond. Corresponding VLANs are created in each network bond as required by the application.
