Set the MTU and discovery protocol

Set the MTU and discovery protocol

    1.  In the vSphere Client, select Menu > Networking. 
    2.  In the left pane, right-click on the VDS, named VMware HCIA Distributed Switch in this example, and select  Settings > Edit Settings. 
    3.  In the Edit Settings window, select Advanced, and make the following settings: 
      1.  MTU (Bytes) – 9000 
      2.  Discovery protocol Type – Link Layer Discovery Protocol 
      3.  Operation – Both (optional) 
        Note: Setting the Operation to Both enables LLDP packets to be sent and received by the VDS. This setting is optional.

    4.  Click OK.
