You can configure DDVE configuration in two ways: using DD system manager (UI) or the command-line interface (CLI). In this white paper, using DD System Manager to configure DDVE is discussed in detail.
To configure DDVE in Google Cloud using DD System Manager UI:
Note: The instance id is found under VM instance details on the Google Cloud portal.
Select the authentication mode. If HMAC authentication method is selected, enter the Access ID and the secret key. Click Next.
The file system is created and enabled.
Note: DDVE running in Google Cloud must have its clock synchronized with NTP for object store communication. DDVE automatically synchronizes its clock using the time server information in the DHCP response that the Google Cloud infrastructure provides. If there are any changes in the Google Cloud setup that prevent the NTP server announcement, configure, and check the NTP status by going to Administration > Settings > More Tasks > Configure Time Settings.
