  • Migrating data from the existing entry-level and mid-level models to DD6400 is achieved by collection replication. Some requirements:

    • Both source and target systems must be running the same release of DDOS. For example, before initiating the migration, if the target system is running DDOS 7.7, upgrade the source system to DDOS 7.7 as well.
    • The target system must have same or higher capacity than the source system, and should include both active tier and cloud tier.

    (These same requirements apply when performing a migration from a DD6400 to a DD6900 or to a DD9400.)

    Because DD2200 and DD2500 do not support DDOS 7.7, one can use Mtree replication to perform the migration from those appliances.

    Note: A controller upgrade is not supported in DD6400.
