An important feature

  • The use of PowerFlex snapshots is an important feature for data management and protection.

    In this paper we demonstrated the capabilities of PowerFlex to exploit its native snapshotting capabilities in conjunction with Oracle workloads on Bare Metal. While we have mentioned VMware vSphere environments as being able to support the same use cases, the steps would be slightly different when it comes to the vSphere datastores.

    We have documented three use cases, including the scenario setups and recovery steps in as much detail as possible, to allow IT administrators and/or Oracle DBAs to effectively use this paper as a model for performing the same use cases on their PowerFlex infrastructure in support of their Oracle workloads.
