Caution: Do not modify spanning tree protocol settings on switches in SmartFabric mode with the L3 Fabric personality.
Spanning tree is automatically disabled on VxRail node-connected ports.
On L2 uplinks to external networks, spanning tree is disabled. Each VLAN may only be extended on one group of uplinks to prevent loops.
For L3 uplinks, Dell recommends using L3 routed uplinks as covered in Configure L3 routed uplinks to the external network. For L3 VLAN uplinks, RPVST+ is supported.
Note: For more information about spanning tree protocol in SFS, see the SmartFabric Services for OpenManage Network Integration User Guide, Release 1.2. The guide is available on the Dell EMC OpenManage Network Integration for VMware vCenter web site.
