The first step in the update procedure is to make sure the iDRAC firmware of the SU nodes and HLH are at the correct level. Log in to each iDRAC for the HLH and SU nodes to validate the current firmware versions.
On 13G servers, any firmware that is less than version 2.52.52.52 must be updated. The iDRAC firmware versions contained in the 1906 release for 13G is 2.63.60.61 for scale unit nodes and HLH.
For 14G scale unit nodes, any firmware that is less than version 3.21.21.21 must be updated. The iDRAC firmware versions contained in the 1906 release for 14G is 3.34.34.34 for scale unit nodes and HLH.
The following figure displays a 13G R730xd server with an out-of-date iDRAC version. The iDRAC firmware version on a 14G R740xd system appears in the iDRAC’s System Information section of the Dashboard.
