Safeguarding deployment handoff files

  • After deploying Azure Stack Hub, you must safeguard several other files on the HLH server:

    • BitLocker recovery passwords
    • Deployment certificate files
    • Switch configurations

    BitLocker recovery passwords

    The BitLocker recovery passwords are in the following directory: D:\CustomerBackup\BL_Recovery_Passwords.txt.

    The recovery passwords are only required for the D drive:

    • BitLocker recovery password for D:=079871-720115-159874-266893-056507-674146-573287-709016

    The C: drive is mounted from a VHDX file located on the D: drive. As a result, the C: drive is protected with BitLocker with it residing on the D: drive.


    Deployment certificate files

    Protect the deployment certificates that are located in the following directory: D:\CloudDeployment\Setup\Certificates.

    Back up the entire directory structure under Certificates.

    Switch configurations

    Use the Dell Patch and Update tool to take regularly scheduled backups of the running configuration from the BMC and ToR switches. For more information, refer to the Dell Integrated System for Microsoft Azure Stack Hub Patch and Update Guide.
