Home > Storage > Data Storage Essentials > DataIQ and CloudIQ > CloudIQ: A Detailed Review > Storage System Details – Capacity
The Capacity tab shows slightly different information depending on the product type. The storage capacity details for PowerStore, Unity XT family, SC Series, PowerVault, PowerFlex, and PowerScale/Isilon include:
The Total Capacity graph provides a breakdown of raw storage to Used, Free, and Unconfigured Drives (Unprovisioned Capacity for PowerScale or Isilon).
Savings includes a breakdown of the Logical and Used capacity of the total storage visible to the hosts, and the Efficiency Savings explained previously.
Storage Usage shows the consumed capacity of these categories of storage objects:
Drive Type Usage shows the drive types installed in the system, with configured and unconfigured capacity. Hovering over the rings will show the details related to that configuration.
The Pools table lists the configured storage pools on the system. It includes the Free, Used, and Time to Full details for each pool. Selecting a pool name navigates the user to the Pool Details page.
XtremIO systems show the Capacity Forecast chart on the top of the page. The bottom of the page shows the total capacity broken down by used and free along with a detailed data reduction chart.
PowerStore systems provide the Capacity Forecast chart at the top of the page. The bottom of the page includes charts for physical and logical usage and the space savings due to data reduction.
PowerMax or VMAX systems display Used and Free capacities for Subscribed, Snapshot, and Usable storage as well as the storage efficiency ratios and the percent used per storage resource pool.
PowerFlex provides a breakdown of Total Capacity based on physical used and free. It also provides total provisioned and logical used charts and overall efficiency based on thin and snapshot savings and data reduction.
For APEX Block Storage Services, there are two views for capacity under the Capacity tab: Subscribed and Physical. The Subscribed chart displays the Base Used, Base Available, and On-Demand Used capacities. The Capacity Forecast chart provides historical trends for each of these metrics. This brings attention to the user how often they are using storage from the On-Demand category. If consistently using On-Demand storage, they may want to consider modifying their subscription to increase the Base capacity, which results in a lower cost per GB.
The Manage Subscriptions link directs the user to the APEX Console.
The Physical view shows the Total, Free, and Used physical capacities on the cluster. The Capacity Forecast chart at the top of the page provides the historical and forecast capacity usage and the predicted time to full.
The bottom half of the Physical view provides Used and Free breakdowns for both physical and logical usage, the storage usage chart, and a chart with the space savings due to data reduction.
For APEX File Storage Services, the capacity tab also has a Subscribed and Physical view. The Subscribed view has the Subscribed Capacity bar chart showing the total Base Used, Base Available, and On-Demand Used capacities for all subscriptions. The table at the bottom half of the page provides a breakdown of the capacity usage for each subscription.
Selecting the Subscription link opens a subscription details page with a Properties and Capacity tab. The Properties tab lists the Node Pools and the summary of any health issues.
The Capacity tab provides Subscribed and Physical views of the capacity similar to what is available at the system level.
The Physical view for APEX File Storage Services
The bottom half of the page provides a breakdown of the Total Capacity, a Storage Usage chart, and a table with Free and Used capacity metrics for each node pool.
