Rapid Recovery allows a fast recovery within seconds for desired virtual machines. When Rapid Recovery is enabled, the next copy of the virtual machine that arrives to the cloud will be automatically recovered (rehydrated and converted) and saved as an AMI on your AWS account, or saved as a disk on your Azure subscription. When recovering that virtual machine, you will be able to select the Rapid Recovery copy which will create a VM immediately, skipping the normal recovery process. Additional AWS and Azure charges for the storage of the AMI/disk may apply. You can configure each VM for 1-5 Rapid Recovery copies, when the default is 0.
In order to save costs of the recovery compute (the restore service VM runtime), there is an interval configuration of 6-24 hours that sets the minimal time between Rapid Recovery rehydrations. This setting can be changed using the Cloud DR Server.
If you require a different setting, there is a tweak that can be applied to change it.
