The networks and VLAN IDs shown in the table below are added for the second VxRail cluster in this deployment.
In this deployment example, the same External Management VLAN, 1811, is used for both VxRail clusters.
Description | Network ID | Network name | VLAN ID |
vMotion | vmotion-1822 | vmotion | 1822 |
vSAN | vsan-1823 | vsan | 1823 |
VM Network C (optional guest network) | vmnet_C-1824 | vmnet_C | 1824 |
VM Network D (optional guest network) | vmnet_D-1825 | vmnet_D | 1825 |
The vMotion and vSAN networks are required. The guest networks shown are for user VMs and are optional.
The networks are created as follows:
- In the SFS UI, select Network > Networks and expand General Purpose Networks.
- Click +CREATE.
- Enter the Network ID, Network Name, and VLAN number for the network, as shown.
- Click CREATE.
- Repeat steps 2 through 4 for the remaining networks. When complete, the screen shows the existing and newly created networks. The new networks are outlined in red in the figure below. Note: If L3 uplinks are used, the External Management VLAN (1811 in this example) will be a Layer 3 VLAN type.
