For scalability purposes, this solution enables load-balancer deployment and uses logistic centers with smaller infrastructure to run virtual desktops that users can access locally or connect based on rules, such as proximity. This solution is aligned with business expansion. If a business is growing and opening more logistic centers, the solution can deploy local infrastructure to handle the virtual desktops needed for employees or business partners.
The infrastructure can be sized based on needs. However, to have a cost-effective solution, it is possible to use VxRail configurations based on two nodes with the caveat that they cannot scale but can handle dozens of virtual desktops that can support business operations.
In addition to a global load balancer, each site has a local edge load balancer to distribute user demand across available resources. This enables access from anywhere and any device. Further, a remote user can connect to the service and the solution redirects user to the correct resource based on business policies. This enables a solution to meet business demands. Also, in the event of business expansion, the solution can easily scale beyond a smaller number of sites to many sites.
From the retailer perspective, this solution can be standardized and implemented with a VxRail system and Global Server Load Balancing (GLSB) to provide flexibility and always-available architecture and meet workforce transformation strategies. The solution also allows the creation of the required profiles, and the retailer can empower users and partners to collaborate more for the business while enhancing productivity and efficiency.
