Each SAP HANA node uses its own data and log device and has access only to its pair of devices, as Figure 1 shows. For performance reasons, VMware recommends provisioning the SAP HANA data and log devices as “thick provision eager zeroed.” VMware also recommends assigning dedicated SCSI controllers for each data and log device.
