The following figure depicts an example of vSAN-based architecture. The validated solution includes the network, compute and graphics, management, and storage layers. This architecture aligns with the Citrix pod architecture and uses Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS) with a random or non-persistent desktop – that is, virtual desktops are assigned randomly as users connect. When users log off, their changes are discarded, and the desktop is reset to its original state and made available to other users. The Citrix pod architecture is discussed in more detail later in this document.
