Oracle TimesTen Classic database requires two file systems to store checkpoint and transaction log files. Two volumes were provisioned from the PowerMax 2500 storage array and mapped to the S5408 server for this purpose.
The size of the volume for the checkpoint files depends on the size of the dataset that will be loaded into memory. For more details, see the following Oracle documentation.
After the volumes were mapped to the database server, we configured DM multipath and created an XFS file system. Figure 3 and Figure 4 show the storage provisioning and DM multipath processes.
