By default, PowerEdge servers have USB and other ports enabled. In this best practice USB and serial ports are disabled because they can pose a security risk.

Overview
Although we did not expect a significant performance improvement when we disabled USB ports and serial communication on the servers, it is still a good security practice. In this best practice the following ports were disabled in BIOS:
Recommendation
Disabling unused integrated devices did not improve any of the following metrics. It is considered as a Day 3, Fine Tuning best practice for security purposes.
