vVols is a new technology from VMware that offers a better way of provisioning, managing, and accessing virtual disks. vVols access and management are enabled by a software component called vStorage APIs for Storage Awareness (VASA) provider, which is also called as vendor provider. VASA providers are developed by storage vendors.
