Dell Technologies recommends the configuration in ObjectScale all flash configuration for storage clusters that use ObjectScale for primary modern data stack storage using the S3:// protocol.
ObjectScale is high-performance containerized object storage that is built for the toughest applications and workloads-Generative AI, analytics, and more. ObjectScale is the evolution of Dell ECS enterprise object storage architecture. ObjectScale provides increased flexibility in infrastructure choices.
Customers can use either of the following options to deploy ObjectScale:
- Software-defined storage to deploy ObjectScale software on Red Hat OpenShift
- An XF960 appliance that is based on the latest generation of Dell PowerEdge servers
Note: Dell Technologies deployed ObjectScale on an OpenShift cluster in a lab environment for this Dell Validated Design.
This advanced system is designed as a distributed architecture, establishing a robust foundation for scalability across all nodes and ensuring unparalleled availability. The software component of ObjectScale offers an array of features that are engineered for optimal protection of data. It incorporates geo-replication capabilities contributing to enhanced data availability. Secure data access is another pivotal feature, ensuring stringent security measures are in place for data retrieval and modification.
