This chapter describes the functional tests that Dell Technologies performed to validate that Cloudera CDP Private Cloud Base 7.1.7 SP2 was deployed correctly on the recommended configurations.
The functional testing consisted of running sample workloads on various supported Cloudera CDP Private Cloud Base components, including:
- Atlas
- HDFS
- Hive on Tez
- HBase
- Spark
- Spark 3
- MapReduce
- Spark and Hive integration
- Hue
- Spark GPU test
- Ozone
- Ranger
- YARN
- ZooKeeper
Before and after each test, the following health statuses were checked using Cloudera Manager to ensure that no health issues were indicated:
- All hosts
- All components
- Cloudera management services
All the component testing was performed with Kerberos authentication enabled.
In addition, Dell Technologies evaluated the compatibility of these components with the integration of a Dell PowerScale storage array. OneFS on the PowerScale platform provides a native HDFS interface that allows direct access from Hadoop clients. With Hadoop NameNode functionality integrated within OneFS, dedicated NameNode servers are eliminated, which simplifies the deployment and scaling of Cloudera CDP Private Cloud Base.
