The Dell PowerEdge XE9680 system featuring NVIDIA H100 SXM5 80 GiB GPUs set five best processing, performance, and energy efficiency records including:
The following sections describe these performance and efficiency records in detail.
Comparing the ratio of options completed to elapsed time, Dell has set the highest throughput (options/second) record, as shown in Figure 1.
This benchmark measures the seconds it takes to compute all Greeks with 5 assets, 25K paths, and 252 timesteps, Dell has set the fastest warm restart run time record for the Baseline Greeks benchmarks.
This benchmark records the seconds it takes to compute all Greeks with 10 assets, 100 K paths, and 1260 timesteps. Dell set both the fastest warm restart run time and cold restart run time records.
This benchmark measures the most correlated assets and Monte Carlo paths simulated in 10 minutes. Dell set the most processing capacity record on both the number of assets and number of Monte Carlo paths.
SUT ID | Capacity: Number of Assets and Number of Monte Carlo paths |
Dell | 440 assets and 316,000,000 Monte Carlo paths (best capacity processing record) |
HPE | 400 assets and 310,000,000 Monte Carlo paths |
Oracle | 345 assets and 156,000,000 Monte Carlo paths |
Intel | 183 assets and 1,000,000 Monte Carlo paths |
Energy consumed is the sum of one-second Watt readings over the HPORTFOLIO processing sequence and adjusted for shared HW/SW resources. Dell has set the best energy efficiency (options/kWh) record.
SUT ID | Energy Efficiency: options/kHw |
Dell | 364945/kHw (best energy efficiency record) |
HPE | 314493/kHw |
Intel | 311045 kHw |
Oracle | No report data |
Overall, Dell STAC/A2 benchmark testing has demonstrated that the Dell 16G XE9680 server can deliver those following outstanding performance records:
Compared to the HP solution using 8 x NVIDIA H100 PCIe GPUs and previous versions of the NVIDIA STAC Pack and CUDA (SUT ID: NVDA230721), the Dell/XE9680/8-GPU solution using NVIDIA H100 SXM5 GPUs shows:
Compared to a liquid-cooled solution using 4 Intel M1550 GPUs (SUT ID: INTC230927), this Dell/XE9680/8-GPU solution shows:
Compared to an Oracle server solution using eight NVIDIA SXM A100 GPUs (SUT ID: NVDA231026), this Dell PowerEdge XE9680/8-GPU solution demonstrated:
