For additional evidence of the dedupe effectiveness, observe the changes at the SRP level. In a production environment, reviewing changes at the SRP level is difficult to achieve since many applications are active and continuously changing the SRP capacity. However, in this controlled test environment, the RMAN duplicate is the only operation taking place in the system.
Before the RMAN duplicate command is run, the PowerMax SRP used capacity is 2,342.5 GB.

The used SRP capacity after the RMAN duplicate operation only increased by 3.3 GB (2,345.8-2,342.5), which is the unique data created by the copied database. This demonstrates the value of PowerMax deduplication for Oracle.
