In this guide, we deployed four AX7525 nodes to create a Dell Integrated System for Azure Stack HCI cluster. On top of this cluster, we have provisioned one SQL Server 2022 virtual machine with the PolyBase feature. The PolyBase feature allows us to connect to External Storage like Dell ObjectScale. Two 25 Gbe Management NICs were used for connecting to Client Servers, Azure Cloud, Data Center Network, Dell Object Scale Storage, Azure arc.
Azure Arc integration makes things easy by handling our 4-node Azure Stack HCI cluster and Azure resources all in one place. It provides added security, better performance, and simpler application deployment with Azure services. It’s straightforward – manage updates, billing, and innovation across our hybrid setup.
Dell ObjectScale Storage was provisioned as an external Storage to our four node Dell Integrated System for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI By using PolyBase capabilities of SQL Server 2022, external delta lake tables will be accessed using Data virtualization.
Client Nodes is used for running VMs that hosts supporting tools such as S3 browser, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), python and it also runs infra VMs such as AD and DNS.
Windows Admin Center (WAC) allows users to add individual nodes, Node Cluster, Clients Servers, Client Cluster and VMs to simplify Server Management.
